Stuffed with hugs

On Saturday 19 May 2007, the first 200 guests at 38 Build-A-Bear Workshop stores throughout the UK were offered the chance to make a teddy bear that Build-A-Bear Workshop donated to Parents for Children.

Here is a picture of Christabel from Parents for Children with a young teddy maker in Canterbury. Stuffed with Hugs began in 2001 and since then children around the UK have helped to make more than 215,000 teddy bears for children in need of a special hug.

And its not just in the UK: Stuffed with Hugs is a global event, with approximately 50,000 teddy bears being made worldwide in 2007 and donated to charity.

All of the children making bears to help us were asked to make a special wish for the child who would receive their teddy bear and fill their teddy's heart with love and good wishes.

This is a picture of Edwina Brocklesby, Parents for Children's Director, with two young teddy bear makers in Bristol.

Edwina Brocklesby, Director of Parents for Children says "children in the UK and around the world will be thrilled to receive these teddy bears. It’s a lovely idea to give a teddy bear to a child needing that extra teddy loving care".
